BATTLEFIELD REMEMBERS
In 2018, 100 years on from WW1, young people were more disengaged with Remembrance than ever before.
But we found a solution. Young people spend tons of time playing video games. Shooter games are most popular, with EA Games' Battlefield 1 being played regularly by over 19 million people. So for the centenary, we worked with EA Games and DICE to hold a ceasefire throughout the Battlefield 1 game. At 11am on Sunday 11.11.18, we arranged for the top players / gaming influencers to spread the world, and watched the ceasefire unfold. It worked, for a bit. This being the internet, the trolls came to play too. But despite our trolls, we managed to get a message of remembrance to approximately 1 million young players online.
